While there is no standard daily recommended dose for pomegranate juice, consuming 8 to 12 ounces daily is considered safe and healthy for most individuals. It's crucial to ensure the juice is 100 percent pure pomegranate without any added sugars. Nitric oxide, a natural antiviral, is beneficial for overall health when increased. Pomegranate juice, rich in antioxidants, may offer cardiovascular benefits and support heart health. Nonetheless, it should not be relied upon as the only solution; maintaining a balanced diet is essential for arterial health. The human body naturally produces nitric oxide, and enhancing its production can be advantageous.

Pomegranate juice is rich in sugars, magnesium, calcium, vitamin C, potassium and some sodium. It is recommended to juice the whole pomegranate as it has a higher fiber content. Studies suggest that pomegranate juice may be beneficial for treating gout, as it contains citric and malic acid, which help regulate blood uric acid levels. This helps people with gout, to get rid of swollen and painful joints. It also contains antioxidants that reduce inflammation. Both Citrulline and Nitrates have been found to be effective for increasing nitric oxide production.

Nitric oxide is a molecule that’s produced naturally by your body, and it’s important for many aspects of your health. Its most important function is vasodilation, meaning it relaxes the inner muscles of the blood vessels, causing them to widen and increase circulation. Nitric oxide production is essential for overall health because it allows blood, nutrients, and oxygen to travel to every part of your body effectively and efficiently. In fact, a limited capacity to produce nitric oxide is associated with heart disease, diabetes, and erectile dysfunction.

When these foods are consumed, nitrates are converted into nitric oxide, which confers a wide range of health benefits related to heart health and exercise performance. Nitrates can form N-nitroso compounds, such as nitrosamine, which are capable of causing cancer. However, vegetables, which account for more than 80% of nitrate intake, contain antioxidants like vitamin C, which help prevent the formation of N-nitroso compounds. Therefore, nitrates from vegetables are harmless, whereas nitrates in processed meats can be troublesome to health, particularly when consumed in excess over long periods!

Arginine and Citrulline are precursors for the body's production of Nitric Oxide (NO) in a feed-forward cycle. Both are effective in boosting NO production, with Citrulline being particularly abundant in watermelons, especially the yellow variety. The name Citrulline is derived from 'citrullus,' the Latin term for watermelon. Orange watermelons rank second in L-citrulline content, while the more common red watermelon contains the least. Additionally, watermelon leaves are not only edible but also one of the richest natural sources of Citrulline. NO destroys many viruses and bacteria !
