Mindfulness meditation is the practice of nonjudgmental, intentional awareness of the present. It can strengthen areas of your brain responsible for memory, learning, attention and self-awareness. The practice can also help calm down your sympathetic nervous system. Meditation involves attentional regulation and may lead to increased activity in brain regions associated with attention memory and focus it has been found that the practice of meditation triggers neurotransmitters that modulate stress and anxiety.
FIRST THE SCIENCE:
Maintaining melatonin production and release at adequate levels is therefore desirable for neurogenesis and neural plasticity, and a regular meditation practice could assist in achieving this by both increasing baseline melatonin levels and maintaining or increasing pineal integrity. A minimum of 30 hours of meditation practice over two months (30 minutes a day), led to an increase in gray matter density—a measure of the amount of cortical grey matter in a given area — and gray matter volume! Grey matter has a large number of neurons present, which allows it to process information and release new information through axon signaling found in the white matter. The grey matter throughout the central nervous system enables individuals to control movement, memory, and emotions.
Neuromelanin (NM) is the dark polymer pigment produced in specific populations of catecholaminergic neurons in the brain. It appears in greatest quantities in the human brain, in lesser amounts in some other non-human primates, but is absent from the brain in many lower species. The catecholamine neurotransmitters include dopamine, epinephrine (adrenaline), and norepinephrine (noradrenaline).Neuromelanin, a black pigment generated during catecholamine synthesis, is ordinarily present in dopaminergic and noradrenergic nuclei in the substantia nigra pars compacta and the locus coeruleus. Neuromelanin provides neuronal protection from oxidative stress binding metal ions, especially iron (Zucca et al., 2017).
Neurons are information messengers. They use electrical and chemical signals to send information between different areas of the brain, as well as between the brain, the spinal cord, and the entire body. The structure and role of Neuro-Melanin has been only partially characterized and is still a matter of investigation because of the involvement in brain aging and Parkinson’s disease). In fact, this pigment first appears in Black children at 6 moths to 1-2 years and Pheomelanin dominant children at 2–3 years of age and accumulates with aging. Neuro-Melanin is possibly associated with the vulnerability of dopaminergic neurons in the Substantia Nigra. In PD the melanized neurons of Substantia Nigra are more vulnerable than the non-melanized ones.
Safeguarding your melanin content is key to a long and healthy life! Melanin is latin for “black substance” derived from the Greek word Melas meaning Black. Study of Melanin is the key to understanding life on planet Earth. “Chemistry” comes from the word “Kemet”. “Kemet” means black. (“Kemet” means ancient Egypt) even the name Adham or Adam means Black. Ethiopian, Abyssinian, means black, Phoenician means dark purple a color in ancient times synonymous with black in the black family of colors that for the ancients included blue and green!The people of Ancient Sumer which means born during Summer alluding to the populace being dark brown skinned and black referred proudly to themselves as "Black-Headed Ones" or "Black-Headed People" Ethiopia means black, or specifically, jet-black! The Egyptians referred to themselves as "Black" people or kemet, kamit and kmt was the etymological root of other words, such as Kam or Ham, which refers to Black Hebrews.
According To the late Dr Laila Afrika Originally study of Melanin was central to studying what is now known as Chemistry. By deduction Biology is the study of how melanin communicates to create & sustain life. Melanin facilitates bonding & clustering information at every level because in connects dots and makes patterns visible; leading to cross referencing information chemically, intellectually and socially (community building). Higher Melanin content makes for certain (positive) attributes biologically, physiologically, cognitively etc. The higher Melanin content in a human being the higher you will find the natural content of vitamins &minerals in the body. This makes for a variety of differences in people with varying amounts of Melanin.
1. Diabetes will not show up in the blood report in the same reading for all races.
2. The speed of child development varies as per Melanin content, therefore expectation from a child should be different as the growth of nerves controlling the bladder for example is much faster in melanated people.
3. Biochemically there is a difference in the milk produced by a mother based on Melanin content in her body. As a black person's natural milk will be more nutritious and her placenta will also contain more nutrients. An argument can be made that baby food too should reflect this difference for babies with various amount of Melanin.
4. Higher Melanin in a body indicates that person is absorbing a broader spectrum of frequencies . This indicates richer experience of colors (eye melanin content) and tastes. Human melanin absorbs visible radiation through two distinct mechanisms: one that is in effect over the entire visible range and is linear in wavelength, and a second one that is evident at wavelengths in the range 400-500 nm and is exponential in frequency.
5. Higher Melanin in a body indicates that person is absorbing more Ultra Violet rays of the sun ( from the TV monitor & computer) ,retaining more and is able to make the bones stronger due to Vitamins D.
6. More Melanin in the body indicates better regulation of the the body temperature and protection from harmful UV radiation. And therefore protects the skin from aging.
7. Epinephrine, also known as adrenalin is a form of Melanin but acts both as a hormone and a neurotransmitter .Epinephrine is critical to flight or fight response and therefore higher Melanin content indicates a better mechanism to survive through a higher reactive speed.
8. Higher the Melanin in the body the better the body’s ability for rhythm & motion related to dance and music. In addition to hair growth, the circadian clock of the skin cells also controls the pigmentation of the hair during anagen, this is shown by the fact melanin production by melanocytes in the human anagen hair matrix increases when the core clock genes BMAL1 and PER1 are silenced
The author claims that ,Living sciences without focus on study of Melanin is merely social sciences . Every living thing has melanin.
Melanin is a bio chemical key to life , it causes conversion reactions
-metabolism of carbohydrates efficiently. The following are a few derivatives (or particles) of Melanin (conversion clockwise and counter clock wise.)
* Tryptophan
* Serotonin (Prozac inhibits the brain from absorbing Seratonin)The vast majority of antidepressants given to kids and teens are ineffective and potentially dangerous as they are linked to increased suicides.
* Epinephrine
The Meditation and Melanin
So you've cleansed the pineal gland...now what?
The true purpose of meditation is to improve harmony within the body by improving brain blood flow and begin effectively removing free radicals and neurotoxins from the body. This occurs by focusing your Chi or life energy using vibrations or harmonics emanating from different chants or vocal resonance methods guided by your conscious mind.
This can be done in stages starting with the relaxation of the throat and neck muscles with simple musical scales of F# (432 Hertz) when instruments are tuned to A this also equals 432 Hz. or OM vibrational humming. The universe vibrates at 432 hz. Coincidentally, Om also vibrates at 432 hz. Doing this will strengthen not only your vocal chords but veins, nerves and arteries of the neck. This stimulates the vagus nerve which is part of the autonomic nervous system, which controls functions of the body that are not usually under voluntary control (such as heart rate and breathing).
Meditation helps prevent excess mucus in the brain stem and brain. Harvard studies have identified a link between brain inflammation and vitamin deficiency, which can contribute to the production of excess mucus. Low levels of vitamin B6, in particular, have been linked to an increase in brain inflammation. As vitamin B6 oversupply from supplements may lead to neurological side-effects, vitamin B6 levels shall be carefully monitored and a healthy diet of unprocessed foods as well as mindful meditation to lower stress allows B6 to be used by the body more effectively. Low plasma levels of active vitamin B6 are found in individuals with chronic alcohol dependence, obesity, and protein-energy malnutrition.
Some nuts are an excellent source of B6. If you want more of it in your diet then focus on raw pistachios, raw walnuts, dry roasted or raw hazelnuts – and even the edible European Chestnut! Or a daily teaspoon of cod liver oil! These nutritious foods can help you control conditions that could lead to disruption of the energy pathways to the neuromelanin centers of the brain.
After meditation for a few weeks you will be ready for the second step as your lung strength and breathing capacity will have improved early morning at sunrise or just before twilight at sundown are the best times to engage in meditation when your body is fully rested or requires rest and relaxation.
In mindfulness meditation, you focus on a specific thing, oftentimes your breath, and try to bring your attention to that anchor. As your ability progresses you will be able to focus the tones and vibrations you create and focus them to vibrationally stimulate and affect specific parts of your brain. This can be done seated in a lotus position or if you are bedridden with your arms upraised and elbows even with your shoulders your fingers clasped lightly behind your head so that the base of your palms are slightly over your ears.
As you begin your mantra focus the vibrations beginning towards the back of your throat up toward the neck toward your substantia nigra just below the pineal gland your third eye. The Substantia Nigra is in your midbrain. As the name suggests, this section of your brain is at the center of your brain. It's just above your brainstem, leading down to where your skull meets your neck and connects to your spinal cord!
After doing this on a daily basis you will soon begin to feel a sense of lessened anxiety as your blood flow increases and affects your endorphin levels. Your hearing and memory may start to improve. You may even find yourself with an improved heart rhythm as you progress.
