The Benefits of Ceylon Cinnamon





This video prompted us to do additional research into the health properties of cinnamon. We found several credible scientific studies on the health benefits of cinnamon, including lowering fasting blood sugar levels and improving insulin resistance. We also discovered that the Cassin variety (plant species Cinnamomum cassia, usually grown in China or Vietnam) can be dangerously toxic in the amounts needs to produce therapeutic benefit. The Cassin variety has high levels of coumarin, which can dangerously interact with prescription blood thinners (Coumadin, Eliquis, etc.), and can also damage the liver. ONLY "true" cinnamon, from Ceylon, plant species variety Cinnamomum verum (aka Cinnamomum zeylanicum) is safe, as it contains only trace amounts (insignificant) of the toxic compound coumarin.
