World's First Floating Solar Power Plant In South Korea!

Korea Vows to Get Rid of Nuclear Power Plants and Replace them With Clean Solar!


In 2008 Korea announced 'Low Carbon, Green Growth' as its vision for mid-to long-term development (2009-2050) together with a voluntary target of 30% reduction of GHG emissions from the business as usual scenario!

Nuclear energy has been a strategic priority for South Korea, but the president elected in 2017 realizing the impact global warming caused by fossil fuels and industries reliant on fossil fuels was having on birthrates introduced a policy to phase out nuclear energy over some 45 years. Accidents like Fukushima that poisoned a significant part of the Pacific ocean are cited as reasons Nuclear is more like a ticking time bomb than an answer to global energy needs!
